Marks & Spencer Reliance India Opens Its New Flagship Store In Mumbai
- Bollywood star Prachi Desai is the first shopper of the day -
Mumbai: April 17, 2009: Marks & Spencer Reliance India today opened its brand-new store at the R-City Mall, Ghatkopar, Mumbai - its largest in the city. Bollywood actress Prachi Desai joined Mark Ashman, CEO, Marks & Spencer Reliance India and Sir Richard Stagg, the British High Commissioner to India, to inaugurate the store, becoming the first shopper of the day.
Trading from 15,000 sq feet across three floors, the new Marks & Spencer store will offer an international shopping experience with an extensive range of apparel including womenswear, menswear, lingerie, and beauty, plus high-quality home products at great value.
Speaking at the launch, Mark Ashman CEO, Marks & Spencer Reliance India said: “It is a pleasure to launch our brand new store in Mumbai, the fashion hub of the country. With this new larger store, we are able to offer a much wider range of our products.
“Marks & Spencer has an unrivalled reputation for offering quality products at great prices, including a growing number of products sourced from local suppliers.
The British High Commissioner who graced the occasion said “Marks & Spencer is an iconic brand in the UK that is known for its excellent quality and value. It is exciting to see the brand expanding in India and partnering with one of India’s leading business houses Reliance Industries. This is another step in furthering the UK / India relationship.
Some of the season’s most fashionable items by Marks & Spencer were modelled by Prachi Desai as she took a tour of the new store. Prachi said: “Shopping at M&S R-City Mall is a wonderful experience. The store is bigger than other Marks & Spencer stores in Mumbai so offers a wider range than ever before. The new summer collections offer something for everyone.
